Teaching. . . a passion
A ravenous learner and exuberant teacher, Erin has continued to teach privately and publicly since 2006, believing that art should be a natural part of everyone's life. She spent the 2007-2008 academic year as an instructor of visual arts in the High School of Christ Presbyterian Academy, and was Visiting Artist to The Ensworth School in 2007. Erin champions that "really good art is really fun to make," and the practice of seeing makes life infinitely rich.
Erin offers workshops periodically throughout the year for teenagers and adults. Meanwhile, she teaches lessons for individuals and groups.
Private Lessons
- 90 minute lessons
- private and group (2-4) rates available
- held at Erin's studio in Cool Springs
Erin is a drawing and painting coach. Her goal as a teacher is to help people with the technical side of representational art- how to see and draw; as well as how to use materials like graphite pencils, charcoal, conté, color pastels, color pencils, watercolor, and oil paint.
Lessons are therefore designed for each person; for the specific techniques and materials each student requires as skills are developed. A causal meeting beforehand helps gage where to start, and what materials you will need to pick up to begin.
